Getting back in the swing...

It always takes me a while to get back into the swing of things. I have not had a chance to work out yet... and the triathlon is in two weeks from today!
I am waiting for Davey to get home from helping a friend move a piano into a convalescent home, then I am heading to the gym. The boys are asleep already.. and I plan to just swim, swim, swim. I am looking forward to a long leisurely work out. How ironic that I would ever say that?
Tomorrow I plan to go to the track and try to run 6 laps straight.. 1 1/2 miles. I don't want to be sore for the tri, so I am going to rest a couple days before. Problem is my shins are sore for like a week and a half after I run! It's crazy, I know. I will just have to push through the pain.
I weighed this A.M. and won't, and I mean WON'T weigh again until Friday! I can steer clear from the scale that long, I think. =)
I am currently 20 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight with Shane, and so close to a huge milestone. I can not wait to reach it. I am motivated and on track.. I see the results and I want them and nothing is stopping me. Besides that chocolate frosting in the fridge my sister in law left in there.... NO! Nothing! In the trash it goes.

P.S. I don't have many pictures of Shane from the front because he wouldn't sit still for one! ;)

Hi Adrienne! I'm Lanae`, Laurie's other daughter that was in the Philippines. I'm so bummed that I didn't get to meet you personally (although your son was in my Wednesday night class) but I've heard nothing but good about you and your husband since I've been back. I'm excited to read through your blog and see this amazing weight-loss journey you've been on. I myself lost quite a bit of weight last year and am inspired by your dedication! And oh my goodness girl! You have such endurance! The thought of a triathlon just sounds painful, but I'm really happy for you and am excited to hear how it turns out. =D

I'll be praying for you guys as you search for God's will in whether Hawaii is where He wants you or not.

Hey Lanae!!
I heard so much about you too!! So awesome how you lost 60 pounds right?!!!! That was so inspiring to hear!! Please tell me how you did it! Thank you, and it is just a Sprint Tri.. so it is a small one... I am nervous! I knew you and I had a lot in common when your Mom told me that you work out twice a day... I do too sometimes! =) If the Lord allows us to move out there than I hope we can work out together! Sounds like you all work out pretty hard core! Love it. Thanks for reading and commenting... and thank you for the prayers!

Well it was actually 40 pounds, and I myself don't quite understand why it came off so well last summer because I'm one of those people that have been dieting since they were 9! It was on and off and all over the place trying different diets, but this last year I just went really low calorie (around 1,000 to 1,200) and worked out more than I ever had and poof! It was gone! I was on some supplements for awhile which definitely helped, but I don't recommend them... I decided I wasn't a fan of the constant feeling of nausea and other weirdness that came along with it. Haha, go figure, right? ;) But regardless, I think that you are doing great with your 1,600 calories a day, you are still breastfeeding if I remember correctly and I know that at times my body really needed more than I was willing to give it. As for the working out twice a day, I definitely did that for awhile and loved it! But I've just come to the place where God's shown me I need to better rearrange my priorities. There's a season for everything and last year I really needed to spend all that time at the gym, but now that I'm much closer to where I want to be, so I am spending more time with my family, friends, & church and less time at the gym. I've not found that good balance yet and seem to not be going to the gym enough these days but I'm working on it. All of my favorite classes (and ones that work with my work schedule) are on Monday and Thursday nights,,, which interfere with my FBI class at the church and visitation. But It's worth it to miss the gym, I get much more of a blessing out of church than the gym will ever give me. =)

Wow, I'm thinking that I probably should just start emailing you or something. Haha, way to be wordy, eh? ;) Oh well, I guess every body and their brother online gets to here my blabber too. Haha. Hope your spin class goes well today. 2 hours sounds awesome!

Oh ya,,, I did starve. Haha, it was stupid of me, and I'm lucky that I've not gained it all back because I lost it so fast. Now it's just an ongoing thing of every day waking up and making the right choices. *ugh* Hate that. But oh well, maybe one day when I'm 90 and dieing I'll be able to look back and be happy that at some point in my life I was able to forget about what I ate and subconsciously be healthy ... Probably not likely though. ;) *Ah* Such is life, eh?
