Weigh In 1.15.11

Two weeks into the new year and down 5 pounds.

Weight: 189.8... ONE EIGHTY nine! Ye hoo!

I was expecting a bigger loss though. Especially with my 10 mile run yesterday. I think running long distances makes me retain weight or something. Because I burned like 1,500 calories yesterday just during the run, and stayed with in points. Same last week and no loss after that.

I am not sure I like the WW Points Plus. I may go back to just counting calories for a week and see if that makes a difference. I love the WW community, and the old program was pretty good, but the new one just isn't settling well with me. We'll see.

Glad I am not in the 190's anymore! My husband is so proud he told his Dad ;) So cute. I am now 2 pounds away from my prepregnancy weight with Shane! Only took me 3 years to lose all that weight.

Congratulations on the great weight loss! You probably are retaining water or something if you are weighing after your long runs. Just keep up the awesome work and the weight will come off!

What I said was, I'm so proud of you and all the successes you've had lately. Good for you with the weight loss and increased mileage. Plus, finding the time to train. Amazing!

Running long distance always makes me retain water. Think of it this way, when you run you are essentially tearing your muscle fibers. In order to heal, they swell and so as a result you will be carrying a little bit more extra water weight for a few days. Obviously, the weight comes off over time.

Awe thank you Sara! That's so sweet. I'm glad to know it was water weight. I didn't know that about the muscles and swelling. Good info! :)

Great job with your 10-miler and congrats on your weight loss! Running long doesn't make me lose weight, either, and I count calories when I'm on a weight loss program. Just remember - you're not running to lose weight, you're losing weight to run! Keep up the great work!
