The Missing Link

Weigh in. I lost 1 pound this week. It's ok. I'm actually happy about that even though last post I said I'd throw my scale in my dog poo.

Since my last post I hadn't had any chocolate or candy. I didn't eat after 6:30. I moved 20 mins a day. The point of that challenge was to prove to myself I could deny myself, and to find the missing link.

My husband is very sick with the flu. On Wednesday he asked me to go to the store after church to get him a candy bar!!! Of course. He never asks that. I went, I bought candy bars for him, and my boys, and I didn't eat any!! {I may or may not have have bought a few Cadberry cream eggs for a future day though}. I decided I would get $5 cash back to put in my goal weight shopping fund jar. My treat to myself for saying NO. Happy dance.

Not eating after 6:30 is really helping. I do so much better to know I have a cut off time. THIS IS THE MISSING LINK. Mentally it's important for me to be conscience of when I stop eating.
Another missing link I've realized is, my free day, is now going to be a free meal. I realize a whole day of "free" makes it difficult to get back on track after.

Hope you all are doing well. :)

7 Day Challenge

I only lost about a pound last week. I'm frustrated. Getting down on myself. Wondering if I'll ever reach my goal weight?

I know a pound is "good". But it's not good enough. I started back at the gym last week. I did cycle, I ran, I did 30 day Shred, and really? Just a pound? jkhhuhjfaljajujflaiti.
{That's gibberish for, "might as well punch me in the face because this stinks."}.

Soooooo. I am looking at my diary. What am I doing wrong? What can I change? Well I know one thing...I ate my fair share of chocolate chips last week. Those pesky little nincompoops creep up on you! So, I'm saying NO TO CHOCOLATE. Oh my soul, what did I just say? Someone slap me. Yes, I said no chocolate. For seven days.

Ok fewww. Seven days, I can handle that. I think. You might want to hide my knitting needles though.

Just kidding.

I don't knit.

Another thing I'm adding starting today for 7 days is...not eating after 6:30 pm. Some nights we eat dinner at 8:00pm! No Bueno.

I'm adding no candy and move for 20 minuets a day to this 7 day challenge as well. Jillian's 30 Day Shred makes me so sore but I will commit to moving 20 mins even if I can hardly walk! And no candy because, let's face it. I have a BAD sweet tooth. I don't want to justify candy because I'm not eating chocolate.

I'm hoping these changes will pay off before weigh in. If not, my scale may end up in my backyard. Where my dog poos.

Work out schedule

New skirts. They fit now but a bit too snug. In -10 lbs they will fit perfect. You do not even want to know what size they are. Ok I'll tell you. XXL. Yup. Back there. I haven't gotten any new clothes since I was pregnant with Reece since I hoped to lose the baby weight quickly. Well that ain't happening. My maternity clothes are getting O L D. So I got these, for motivation.
I lost some this week not a whole lot. Like .5-1lb. I'm at my lowest postpartum weight now since Reece. Hoping for a good weigh in on Friday.

Something I have learned from losing weight, is your palate changes! You really do Crave what you EAT!! If you are just starting out on a healthy eating journey, give it 3 weeks. Really!! You will soon start to crave what you eat! I remember loving salads at lunch, and grilled chicken tacos for dinner. I looked forward to eating my frozen mangoes with a little whip cream for a dessert while we enjoyed a movie.

I've been faithful at counting my calories and eating clean healthy foods again for a few days now {if this is your first time here, I am 3 months postpartum and really just got serious again about resuming my weight loss journey!}. It's all coming back to me. I am enjoying my lean turkey sandwich loaded with veggies on Sara Lee light bread instead of just throwing any food in my mouth because I'm always in a hurry.

I feel better, I'm in control and reaping the results. We had a family night at Chili's the other night and I ordered something healthy!! {insert victory dance here}. I got the Margarita Chicken and it was delicious! I logged it into and still had calories to spare for a treat when I got home. Now my husband and boys on the other hand...well...

Speaking of boys. A couple was staring at me at Chili's. I thought it was just because I was nursing Reece, even though I was totally covered. Then it happened. I began to burp him, and realized poop was all over me. YUP yellow poop on my hands, all up Reece's back, his blanket, my arms. What. In. The. World. How does a 3 month old poop so much? The couple was staring at me in complete horror. I'm pretty sure they never want kids now. I was playing it cool when Shane yelled, "EWWWW poop Mom!!! It's on your hand!" and several more people grossly looked our way. Can't make this stuff up folks.

Let's remember, you crave what you eat! Let's give it time and see how we fall in love with the healthy foods. :)

I have been feeling MUCH better and I thank God everyday!! I did a lot of research and concluded that my sickness had something to do with taking antibiotics while in labor with Reece.

What it was/is exactly I have no idea. But I discovered this Saturday night, it sort of hit me like a light bulb.

Sunday I began to take probiotics (bought a bottle at Whole Wheatery and they were NOT cheap!). I felt better right away! I have been eating bread, dairy, and fruit and I've been fine. Seriously...Praise. The. Lord. I will NEVER take my health for granted again. EVER. The doctors were taking about doing a colonoscope, and other extensive tests. You want to put that where?! Um no thanks.

I was feeling so good that on Monday I ran 1 whole mile with out stopping! Whooty whoot! First run postpartum with out walking. I'm on my way people. On my way.

If you have good health and the sun is shining, get out and take a walk! You NEVER know when you won't be able too.

My heart is full, I am thankful to God, He is so good! My husband hasn't had steady work in 3 months and we haven't gone with out anything..seriously..God is good. If you don't have Him, get Him.

PS I lost a couple more pounds, down 36 total now. yyyaaayyy.

Pounds to Go

Brief summary of the last few days- Sick to my stomach, crying in frustration, spending money we don't have to see a holistic doctor, ER last night, doctors not finding anything, more frustration, me realizing this all started with my gallbladder, look up pain after gallbladder surgery, find out that you can still have the pain when eating fat since liver just dumps bile into stomach, kicking myself for eating a high fat low carb diet, today eating low fat, back on myfitnesspal, hoping for health, lost two pounds last week making it a total of 35 since July 2009, 65 to go. I made this for motivation....
